In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Growing up watching my dad play drums in church. On the last song, my mom would let me go on stage behind the drums. While playing, my dad would hand me a drumstick and let me hit the hi-hat as he played. I still remember it like it was yesterday. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Mayer, Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles Leslie Odom, Jr., Leslie Odom Jr. Tony Bennett, Duets II The most talented artists are diverse, so why restrict yourself to a singular sound? The array of talent, breadth of influence, and interest are all on public display. I admire their venerability, quality, impressive follow-through, timeless sound. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? To have an opportunity. Imagine a world without art or music; what would we feel besides stress from work and family? I make music to enjoy and help make people feel known. The best music is fueled by holy motive, beautiful passion, and openness. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To be heard! I consider it a great divine privilege to contribute and make music, and the only thing I’d ever want is for my music to be enjoyed in the intimacy of someone’s heart and home.
