About Matt Wright

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. There's a few early musical memories I have, but probably my first was around 3 or 4 years old, learning how to record one of my parents' vinyls onto cassette. I believe it was Stars by Simply Red! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Angels & Airwaves, We Don't Need to Whisper (UK Version) UK Version Michael Jackson, Bad (25th Anniversary Special Edition) The 1975, The 1975 (Deluxe Edition) Each of these albums offers something unique and incredible to music with a lot of diversity throughout each album. Lots of genres and sounds blending throughout and I could quite happily listen to each of them, on repeat, for hours! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Headspace” This song means a great deal to me because it's very personal and written from experience about when I was in a really dark place with my mental health. I believe it's a song many people can connect with and I hope it provides people some solace. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Definitely my most memorable moment so far was performing at Shepherd's Bush Empire in 2007, supporting Son Of Dork (James Bourne from Busted's spin-off band). An incredible night performing in front of 2,500 people! Not bad for a first gig! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Isn't it every artist's dream to be able to sell out Wembley Stadium and shout "Hello Wembley"?!
