In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Her love for music is steeped in the Church where she regularly sings as part of the choir, her dad's musical background playing the Talking Drum and growing up listening to Fújì, Highlife and Afrobeats. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill Tems, For Broken Ears Wizkid, Ayo I feel like this album helped me solidify the stories I wanted to convey, Lauryn is a great storyteller. Ayo was an album that connected me to Nigeria thanks to anthems like Ojuelegba. Tems writing style and melodies are captivating. Tell us why you chose this song. “Save Me” Save Me was my first single, the first full song I wrote, the first time I had worked with the producers. Just a lot of firsts! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Elton John playing my song on his Rocket Hour show. I think it’s the most unexpected thing, at this point in my career there was no reason for us to cross paths but it happened and I’m grateful to God. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to get some performances going and do a World Tour.
