In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew in a family that loved music. We’d wake up to songs from international musical legends every morning. My dad would play some old soul, rock, blues music. I Grew up listening to Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Phil Collins so I became hooked. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Aṣa, Asa [Asha] Céline Dion, A New Day Has Come Michael Jackson, Thriller Bad Album by Michael Jackson was a fascinating album for me even though I wasn’t born when it was created. Michael had a thing with excellence that I’ve admired for so long and I’m still in awe Asa album was all over the streets growing up in Lagos. Tell us why you chose this song. “GOTC (God of the Calm)” “God in the storm” were the words I’d say to myself often even as I watched my whole world crumble. For a teenager who has slept on the streets of Lagos in his early teenage years, GOTC is a reminder that all things work together for good. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing my song to a crowd in my city and the reactions I got left me in tears. That many people singing along to something I wrote in my bedroom? It was overwhelmingly beautiful. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to tour the world. I want to sing my songs in every continent of the planet.
