In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Fist time I heard Steely Dan. They have been an ongoing musical influence ever since. Another huge musical influence was and still is Pat Metheny. And lastly, The Beatles will always be another huge musical inspiration for me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Kimbra, Vows (Australian Tour Edition) Steely Dan, Citizen Steely Dan 1972-1980 The Beatles, The Beatles (The White Album) White Album still the most fascinating and diverse collections of songs ever recorded, it's at once scary, peaceful, sad, happy and humorous. Citizen Steely Dan, all of their classic masterpieces in one place. Vows, a modern classic, funky also! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Just One Thing” This was one of the first songs composed for this collection. And everyone I played it for loved it. I think it has the most immediate appeal. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing at Carnegie Hall and playing Aaron Copland at Tanglewood under Leonard Bernstein. And getting my Bachelor and Masters degree from The Juilliard School. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To have people enjoy listening to Human Accelerant as much as I enjoyed recording it.
