About half•alive

Indie-pop band half•alive formed in 2016 in Long Beach, CA, when church acquaintances Josh Taylor and Brett Kramer reconnected while writing songs in the same recording studio. ∙ Now, Not Yet, the band’s first LP, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart in 2019. ∙ The trio collaborated with one of their musical idols, Grammy Award-winner Kimbra, on Now, Not Yet’s minimalistic techno track “ice cold.” ∙ Zane Lowe gave “ok ok?,” half•alive’s dreamy 2019 single, its world premiere on his Apple Music radio show. ∙ When the group played NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert in 2019, the dancers from their “still feel” video ingeniously scaled back their synchronized moves while sitting in chairs.
