Gangsta Boo

Highly influential Memphis rapper Gangsta Boo started off as a prominent figure in underground rap circles but soon took command of more mainstream audiences as well. She was a member of the legendary Three 6 Mafia as early as their 1995 debut, Mystic Stylez, and was making solo albums by 1998 starting with the Billboard-charting Enquiring Minds. As the years went on, Gangsta Boo appeared on tracks alongside OutKast, Eminem, Gucci Mane, Run the Jewels, and many other of hip-hop's biggest names. Her fearlessness, charisma, and raw talent had an effect on rap in general, but especially paved the way for other female rappers that followed. Gangsta Boo died in 2023 while working on the album The BooPrint.
