About Ethan Eckert
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was maybe 8 years old and my father David had a rare hometown gig (in a smoky, 21+ bar). I always watched his band's rehearsals, certain I could fill in on drums for a few songs, so, unbeknownst, I packed up my tiny kit in the trunk of his car. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Bringing It All Back Home Rush, 2112 (Remastered 2012) Salty, Dry Rub It doesn't get more punk. Rush's record label told them to write radio singles so they turned in a concept album. Dylan went electric, to his roots, and wrung every word out of his mercury mind. And I drummed for the best band in Kansas City, Salty. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Nature (feat. Abbey Fisher & Dylan Young)” This song is special because it was the first collaboration between my partner Abbey and I. I always use it as a marker for how good I can be. And she's looking fine in that dress that would go on to be quite popular amongst the indie music scene. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Far and away the most memorable moment was my opportunity to collaborate with my grandfather, Pops, on our song, "Happiness". He has since died but we'll always have that record of his supernatural voice singing my lyrics. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Everything's checked off except "Take over the world".
