About Dave Stapleton

Dave Stapleton is a significant creative force in the U.K.'s contemporary music scene. A composer, pianist, keyboardist, photographer, and producer, he founded Edition Records and E2 Music and serves as CEO of both. In addition to leading his own bands, he plays in Slowly Rolling Camera with saxophonist Deri Roberts and drummer Elliot Bennett, and has amassed hundreds of credits as a leader, sideman, and producer. Between 2005 and 2010, he led his own quintet on When Life was in Black and White, The House Always Wins, and Between the Lines. 2008's Catching Sunlight was commissioned by the London Saxophone Quartet. 2013's unclassifiable Flight showcased his quartet alongside the Brodowski String Quartet. Slowly Rolling Camera issued its eponymous debut in 2014. Their 2018 offering, Juniper, won international acclaim and 2024's Silver Shadow made the U.K. jazz charts. In 2026, Stapleton led a septet on the melodic Quiet Fire.
