About Damien

After a relatively short apprenticeship in local clubs, Toledo, OH's Damien -- comprised of vocalist Randy Mikelson, guitarists Chuck Stohl and Fritz Adamshick, bassist Kevin Kekes, and drummer Johnny Cappelletty -- crashed the late-'80s heavy metal party with a thrashy brand of hard rock and an album entitled Every Dog Has Its Day. Not that too many people noticed, thanks to their penniless independent record company, but the boys hung around long enough to record a sophomore effort the following year (1989's Stop This War) before commercial indifference finally drove them apart. And yet a new lineup consisting of Stohl, Kekes, new vocalist Scott Miller, and drummer Rob Brug was eventually convened in 1995 for a third LP named Angel Juice, but when Kekes was offered a gig with Chastain, that halfhearted comeback was no more. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
