Cusp

Cusp draw on a web of 1990s inspirations ranging from grungy alt-rock to winding math rock, tuneful pop-punk, shoegaze, and next-gen power pop. Formed in Rochester, New York, they recorded their debut album, 2023's You Can Do It All, in the Northeast before relocating to Chicago, Illinois, and tweaking their lineup for 2025's What I Want Doesn't Want Me Back. The playfully off-balance sophomore LP drew on similar inspirations but funneled them into a more streamlined indie rock for their Exploding in Sound debut.
