Originally formed in 2018 as a trio named Wolf Bros, this act is primarily a live vehicle for founding Grateful Dead member, rhythm guitarist, and vocalist Bob Weir. Their repertoire incorporates heartfelt blues and country renditions of Grateful Dead material, roots rock covers, and compositions from Weir's various solo projects. Revealing a slight name change, their first album, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros: Live in Colorado, was issued on Jack White's Third Man Records in 2022, by which point they had expanded to incorporate pedal steel, keyboards, and a string and brass ensemble whom Weir dubbed the Wolfpack. A second volume of Live in Colorado was released shortly afterwards the same year.
