Japanese rock act Acid Black Cherry was formed in 2007 as a solo project by singer Yasunori Hayashi, who performs as Yasu. ∙ Yasu had been the lead singer of Janne Da Arc, a visual kei band from Osaka, and he wrote wrote the novel Another Story about the formation of that band. ∙ In 2008, Acid Black Cherry’s debut album, Black List, reached the top of the charts in Japan. ∙ Acid Black Cherry has scored 19 Top 20 hits and two No. 1 albums, 2012 and Acid BLOOD Cherry, in Japan.
