RAT BOY

Rat Boy is a project led by Essex native Jordan Cardy whose genre-blurring amalgam of indie rock, punk, and hip-hop helped his 2017 debut album, Scum, reach the U.K. Top 20. For Rat Boy's 2019 follow-up, Internationally Unknown, Cardy worked with Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong, who co-produced and released it on his Hellcat label. After forming the Beastie Boys-influenced side project Lowlife, he released that group's debut album, Payday, in 2022. Rat Boy then began to identify as a full band, rather than Cardy's solo gig, and they released their third album, the 2024 Essex tribute Suburbia Calling.
