In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Fascinated by sound as a boy, I often tapped objects and listened deeply to the world. Teaching myself guitar & piano by age 12, I made the commitment to play an instrument every single day of my life: a commitment I still keep at age 60. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Michael Hedges, Breakfast In the Field I almost stopped playing guitar in the 80s because I became bored by the instrument, but hearing the Michael Hedges album, Breakfast in the Field, I realized drumming & piano could be incorporated into guitar and I dove back in, head-first. Michael Manring)” I wrote this piece for my then, young children, as they went to bed / they wanted me to read a book and were asleep as I finished it: I called it Song For the Dreaming for them. Michael Manring's contributions on it, were a dream come true for me.
