Selvans

Selvans is an atmospheric and folkloric post-black metal band from Abruzzo, Italy. Born from the ashes of Draugr, they are named for an Etruscan forest god. The project's music explores Italian folklore, mythology, and paganism, incorporating ancient Italic and Roman melodies. Their vocals are delivered in Italian, Latin, and English. Actor/keyboardist/composer/multi-instrumentalist Luca Del Re (aka Selvans Haruspex), is currently the band's only member. Their first EP was cut by a quartet that included singer Jonny Morelli; he was killed in a motorcycle accident before it was released. Haruspex and guitarist Alessandro Coletti (aka Sethlans Fulguriator) carried on with guest musicians for several years. The live Hirpi appeared in 2017 and was followed by the studio debut Faunalia a year later. Haruspex made Selvans a solo project with guests 2019's Dark Italian Art EP. The full-length Saturnalia appeared in 2025.
