About Westwind Brass Quintet
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my first experiences was playing in a musical theater orchestra for the production of Amourous Flea. My sister sang the lead role at the Texas City Community Theatre, located down on the Gulf Coast where it is hot and humid. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chicago Symphony Orchestra Brass, Christopher Martin, Dale Clevenger, Jay Friedman, John Hagstrom, Mark Ridenour, Michael Mulcahy, Tony Kniffen, CSO Resound - Chicago Symphony Orchestra Brass Live Glenn Gould, Bach: Goldberg Variations, BWV 988 (The 1955 & 1981 Recordings) Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II (Remastered) I love the beauty of Glenn Gould's interpretation of the Golberg Variations. CSO brass standard is the industry standard for brass playing, and well, Led Zeppelin II is just plain fun rock and roll. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Siren of Urak” The violist embodies the seductress (Siren of Urak), and her extraordinary performance captivates the members of the brass quintet, rendering them humble accompaniments to her melodic splendor. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments was providing an educational outreach program in Brawley, CA. The kids were like sponges, and the teacher cried at the end of our program. It was the first musical performance for this school in over 40 years.
