Wucan

A proudly retro rock band from Germany, Wucan wave their freak flag high with a high-energy fusion of metal, prog, and psychedelic elements. Playing what they describe as "Magic Flutey Hard Rock," the centerpiece of the band is Francis Tobolsky, who trades off between impassioned vocals, adventurous flute soloing, and added textures on guitar and theremin, while the rest of the band lays down heavy but limber jams behind her. Wucan established the framework of their sound on early releases like 2014's Vikarma and 2015's Sow the Wind, and broke through with 2017's Reap the Storm and the single "The Rat Catcher." The group embraced a leaner and more modern sound on 2025's Axioms without losing touch with their trademark approach.
