About Lida Husik

Lida Husik is a singer/songwriter whose work has ranged from ethereal, psychedelic indie pop to trip-hop and dance music. She began with psychedelic indie pop on her first three albums for Shimmy Disc, where she played all instruments except drums. After signing with Caroline Records and its electronica imprint Astralwerks in 1994, she incorporated dance beats and samples, evident on her album Joyride. 1996's Green Blue Fire, created with Beaumont Hannant, featured trip-hop beats and ambient textures. Moving to L.A. in 1997, she signed with Alias Records, releasing the pop-oriented Fly Stereophonic and the collaborative Faith in Space. By 1999, after relocating to Washington, D.C., Husik released Mad Flavor, showcasing her skills in sampling and programming.
