Sun Speak

Sun Speak is a trio who have a collective compositional voice that encompasses elements from folk, jazz, and experimental music. Its members are founders Matt Gold (guitars), and drummer/percussionist Nate Friedman. Since 2019, they have been a trio that also includes keyboardist, mixer, and recording engineer Dan Pierson. 2014's self-issued Light Blue Light and 2015's Sacred Rubble EP were recorded as a duo. Three years later, in April 2018, Sun Speak issued Sun Speak with Sara Serpa on Flood Music. Pierson came aboard as keyboardist for 2019's self-released full-length Moon Preach. As a trio they returned to Flood Music for 2021's acclaimed Trance, combining compositional and recording processes steeped in melodic yet freewheeling improvisation. They returned in November 2025 with Probiotic Orchestrations on Whirlwind Recordings.
