chotokkyu made their debut in 2012 with the giddy singles “Train” and “Shake Body.” ∙ They set themselves apart by making their “dance subunit” the primary focus of the group’s live show. ∙ Their 2016 single “Yell” was selected as the theme song for the TV drama Otôsan to yobasete. ∙ In 2017, their single “Cho Nebagiba Dance” topped the charts in Japan. ∙ They won the 2018 Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA) for Favorite Dance Artist Japan. ∙ chotokkyu singer/dancer Kai Ogasawara is also an actor, appearing as the sidekick in the film franchise Tokyo Ghoul.
