About Alden Tyrell

Dutch producer and mastering engineer Alden Tyrell is a devotee of all manners of classic dance music, from electro and new wave to Chicago house and Detroit techno. First appearing with the 1999 single "Love Explosion," he became one of the driving forces behind the revival of Italo-disco and electro, and an integral part of esteemed Rotterdam label Clone, through his own productions and mastering credits on hundreds of releases. Times Like These (1999-2006) collected the best of Tyrell's early tracks, and he released several collaborations with Italo veteran Fred Ventura. He shifted towards acid house with tracks like 2012's "Touch the Sky," with Chicago legend Mike Dunn, and additionally explored EBM and darkwave as part of the group Sumerian Fleet. The Vorm Variaties series contained his take on techno, and Present: The Greys Part 1, a 2025 collaboration with Detroit in Effect, found him returning to early electro.
