The Unsemble

Bringing together musical experimenters from all across the rock pantheon, the Unsemble is a collaboration between Duane Denison (the Jesus Lizard, Tomahawk), Alexander Hacke (Einsturzende Neubaten), and Brian Kotzur (Silver Jews). Coming together in 2012, when the trio dove into an intense, two-week recording session, the Unsemble combines its members' distinct musical sensibilities into a cohesive, darkly cinematic sound that pairs improvised experiments with more traditional compositions. The band made their debut with the eponymous album The Unsemble, which was released on Mike Patton's Ipecac Records in 2014. ~ Gregory Heaney
