About Nina Walsh
Nina Walsh is active in many facets of dance and alternative music, as a producer, singer/songwriter, engineer, and label owner. A longtime associate of Andrew Weatherall, she co-ran the Sabres of Paradise and Sabrettes labels during the 1990s, while making breakbeat techno with Lol Hammond (Drum Club) as the duo Slab. She also worked with the Orb and Primal Scream, and founded the mysterious C-Pij label, releasing an experimental album as Obscura in 2001. Memo's, a solo album of electronic folk songs, appeared in 2005, and Walsh collaborated with the Orb's Dr. Alex Paterson as Rootmasters in 2007. Walsh resumed working with Weatherall as the Woodleigh Research Facility, creating dubby electro and acid techno from 2013 until Weatherall's passing in 2020. Walsh has continued the Woodleigh Research Facility as a solo project, and her final album with Weatherall, Phonox Nights, was released in 2023.
