Trondheim Symphony Orchestra

The Trondheim Symphony Orchestra has taken on a steadily expanding range of activities over its more-than-100-year history, spawning an opera company, a musical theater department, and a chamber orchestra. The group operates its own Princess Astrid Music Award competition and plays a major role in the musical life of central Norway. The Trondheim Symphony Orchestra has a substantial recording catalog that includes albums on both Scandinavian labels and those from outside the region. In 2024, the group was heard on the album Hjalmar Borgstrøm: Symphonic Poems, released on the CPO label.
