Grand River

Berlin-based Dutch-Italian sound designer Aimée Portioli composes texturally rich, rhythmic ambient music as Grand River. She has performed at venues and festivals such as Tresor, Berghain, Mutek, Centre Pompidou, and Barbican, and created sound art installations, sometimes using 4D spatial sound. She has issued records on labels like Editions Mego and Umor Rex. Debuting with analog electronic works like the 2017 EP Crescente, she began incorporating more acoustic and orchestral elements into her music with 2023's All Above. A 2024 collaboration with Abul Mogard, In uno spazio immenso, was followed by the longform piece Tuning the Wind in 2025.
