Rat Scabies

Best remembered as the drummer with British punk pioneers the Damned, Rat Scabies richly earned his reputation as one of the best, strongest, and fastest drummers on the original British punk scene. Scabies was also versatile enough to mature with the band as they shifted from straight-ahead punk into material informed by goth, garage rock, post-punk, and pop. After leaving the Damned in the mid-1990s, Scabies involved himself in a wide variety of projects, playing with goth rockers Nosferatu, ska legend Neville Staple, globalist electronic duo Loop Guru, and psych-folk icon Donovan, among many others. He would issue his first solo album, the stylistically diverse P.H.D. (Prison, Hospital, Debt) in 2018, and recorded and performed with the bands Professor and the Madman, the Mutants, One Hundred Motels, and the Sinclairs.
