Artillery

Artillery are a veteran thrash and technical death metal band from Denmark. They remain popular in Europe, even as their riff-centric, knotty attack and clean vocals are often at odds with the genre's evolving production standards. They signed to Metal Blade in the 21st century and it paid off as listeners gravitated back toward earlier, more musical approaches, including a slew of critically acclaimed recordings such as 1985's Fear of Tomorrow and 1990's By Inheritance. Despite a hiatus between 2000 and 2007, they later issued acclaimed outings including 2011's My Blood (widely regarded as their best record), 2013's Legions, and 2016's Penalty by Perception. In 2018, Artillery delivered Face of Fear, an album that resonated with an entirely new generation of fans. The band returned from the pandemic with X in 2021, issued Raw Live (at Copenhell) in 2024, and the studio EP Made in Hell in 2026.
