In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Some older kids cornered me on the playground in the 80s—“Synth or hard rock?” I had just discovered Kiss and said “Hard rock.” They nodded slowly: “Good. You got lucky this time.” That was the moment I chose my side. Märvel began there. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dire Straits, Dire Straits Kiss, Alive! The Hellacopters, High Visibility Dire Straits' first was instilled by our parents from day one and became part of the band’s DNA. Kiss Alive! was, and still is, the guiding light for what rock 'n' roll should be. High Visibility ignited the spark that eventually became Märvel. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Hills Have Eyes” The lyrics for The Hills Have Eyes lay in a drawer for years—until that melody and driving acoustic beat brought them to life. Since then, it’s taken on a life of its own, with covers emerging from all over the world. Thank you, Märvel Army! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Celebrating 20 years of Märvel with a two day Märvelfest in Linköping with 10 awesome bands was something really special. We performed both days playing songs from all of our 10 albums and had all past and present members on stage. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? When Märvel plays the Noble Prize ceremony we can cross that off our bucket list. We're also looking forward to touring Japan and USA. We still want to write the ultimate Märvel song, so that keeps us going like Sisyphus with the boulder up the hill.
