About Rex Dallas

Versatile performer Rex Dallas made his first recordings for EMI Records in the early '60s. After his first single "Bicycle Wreck," he proved versatile, performing material varying from country to rock ‘n’ roll and even light operetta. Like many Australian artists, he is a very fine yodeller; Being especially devoted to Harry Torrani, in 1975 he recorded an album of the yodeller's songs. Its immediate success led to a second album and 20 of the tracks found subsequent release in the U.K. Best known to his Australasian fans for his award-winning bush ballads, notably "Old Wallerawang" and "His Spurs Are Rusty Now," he has his own venue, in New South Wales, where he regularly entertains, when not touring with his country show.
