Two Inch Astronaut

Formed in 2009 in the Washington, D.C. suburb of Colesville, Maryland, Two Inch Astronaut are a post-punk trio with a sound that recalls classic Dischord Records bands like Fugazi and Jawbox. A blend of strong vocals and crafty, intricate musicianship, they made their debut in 2010 with the Slip Disco EP, followed a year and a half later by their first album, Red Pancake, Dark Energy. Their intelligent songs often boast hooky, melodic choruses amid the angular riffs and shifting rhythms. A split 7" arrived in 2012 and in 2013 they delivered their second LP, Bad Brother. Dialing in their sound even further, they followed it up just a year later with their third album, Foulbrood. ~ Timothy Monger
