Golden Grrrls

Glasgow, Scotland-based indie pop trio Golden Grrrls came together in the late 2000s as a time-killing bedroom music experiment between friends, but quickly bloomed into a more fully realized band. The trio developed a sound rooted in the fuzzy indie pop of fellow Glaswegians from several eras, from the '80s and '90s output of stalwarts like the Vaselines and the Pastels to 2000s popsmiths such as Veronica Falls. The band played shows locally and began releasing a string of limited-edition 7" and cassette releases in February 2011. A full-length album was released on Slumberland in 2013. ~ Fred Thomas
