Brooklyn Brothers

Springing to life from the 2011 independent film The Brooklyn Brothers Beat the Best, a rock & roll road trip comedy, the Brooklyn Brothers, played by actor/director/musician Ryan O'Nan and actor/musician Michael Weston, proved popular enough off-screen to secure a record deal with Rhino Entertainment. The duo, who in the film travel across the country to Los Angeles to participate in a battle of the bands, specialize in quirky, indie folk-pop that pairs acoustic guitar and vocals (O'Nan) with an arsenal of found, mostly children's instruments (Weston), resulting in a sound that falls somewhere between Bon Iver, the Beta Band, and Jens Lekman. The Rhino-released original soundtrack, which featured ten songs from the film, was released in 2012. ~ James Christopher Monger
