About Florian Deuter

Florian Deuter is a violinist and conductor who specializes in historical performance practice on period instruments. He studied violin in Cologne and Düsseldorf and spent 14 years with Musica Antiqua Köln under Reinhard Goebel, serving as its concertmaster from 1994 to 2000. He subsequently held concertmaster positions with several leading European early music ensembles before founding Harmonie Universelle, the period-instrument ensemble he continues to lead and record. In 2026, Harmonie Universelle released Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber: Harmonia artificioso-ariosa on the Accent label, co-directed by Deuter and violinist Mónica Waisman.
