John Hoskinson

Pop tunesmith John Hoskinson plays music informed by hooky sounds of the '60s, ‘70s, and '80s, aided by his skillful guitar work and supple vocals. Hoskinson's first band was Ferocious Daisies, with whom he released two discs. The band broke up not long after the second one was issued, and Hoskinson began writing and demoing songs on his own. He got to know producer and musician Joe Ongie and asked him to assist with the making of his solo debut. Miscellaneous Heathen didn't appear until the summer of 2004, but once it was released the disc earned enthusiastic reviews. Hoskinson teamed up with Ongie again to produce 2007's Pancho Fantastico. ~ Mark Deming
