Comedian and TV personality Jose Marie Borja Viceral, better known as his cross-dressing alter-ego Vice Ganda, has made major inroads for the LGBTQ+ community in stand-up circles and mainstream media. But he’s also earned credit for some of the best modern novelty music, borrowing from popular genres like electropop and hip-hop. Ganda isn’t just making situational comedy into catchy hits, he’s also continuing a long tradition of biting sarcasm and clever satire couched in pop songcraft.
