In the 1980s, I recorded songs on cassette by taping my melody, replaying it on a radio, then recording harmonies beside the speaker onto another cassette. I admire artists who aren’t boxed into one sound or genre. You’re not just an R&B singer — you’re a singer, period. You know what I mean? I also enjoy strong vocal harmonies. Tell us why you chose this song. “I Love You Lord (AI Version)” I wrote this song for my mother while she was in hospice. Given 3 weeks to live, she still was the one encouraging us. I recorded it for her to hear, then later sang it at her funeral while accompanying myself on piano, which I only play by ear.
