The Luyas

Experimental Canadian indie rock ensemble the Luyas make arty, atmospheric pop. Formed in Quebec in 2006, the band centers around lead vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jessie Stein. After self-releasing a debut EP in 2008, they continued to experiment with their sound and recording process. Their fourth album, Human Voicing, for instance, relied strongly on improvisation. ~ Matt Collar & Marcy Donelson
