About Ronnie McNeir

Ronnie McNeir is well-known among R&B aficionados for his sweet tenor vocals and imaginative use of keyboards and synthesizers, his extensive outside work as a musical director, songwriter, arranger, and producer, and for his long-term membership in the Four Tops. The Pontiac, Michigan native first displayed his talents on his 1966 debut single. He conceived a highly individualistic approach to music synthesis with self-titled albums issued in 1972 and 1975, followed by the Motown-issued Love's Comin' Down in 1976. The second LP featured the charting singles "Wendy Is Gone" and "Saggitarian Affair." McNeir co-produced Rance Allen's Grammy-nominated I Feel Like Going On before "Come Be with Me" became his third charting solo single in 1984. Having written material for the Four Tops, McNeir became a member of the group in 1999, and continues to occasionally record and perform on his own as well.
