Gentleman Jesse & His Men

Headed by singer/guitarist Jesse Smith (also the bassist for The Carbonas), Gentleman Jesse & His Men are an Atlanta, Georgia, band on a mission to bring back the classic power-pop sound of the late 1970s/early-'80s. Their variant on the style contains plenty of ultra-poppy hooks, but also bears a distinct punk/garage-rock edge. The band released its self-titled debut album in 2008. It wasn't long before the old power-pop guard caught on, and the band found itself touring with power-pop cult heroes the Paul Collins Beat.
