About Preacher Boy

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember hearing “Sliding Delta” by Mississippi John Hurt for the first time. I’d been playing guitar for about two years at that point—somewhat aimlessly. I heard it and immediately thought, “Right. THAT … is what I want to do with my life.” What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Miles Davis, Sketches of Spain The Clash, Sandinista! (Remastered) The Rolling Stones, Exile On Main Street (2010 Remaster) I chose these albums because they’re all brilliant examples of what an album is capable of being—a fully realized work of art on par with a novel or a play. And they're all driven by a sense of raw beauty, deep intellect, and musical passion. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Land of Milk and Honey” I see this as a song about resilience, faith, hope. The holy trinity of the nearly lost. It’s about your own personal promised land, but it’s a vision you share with another, and something that you hold together as you make your way forward. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? A night in my career I'll always remember is getting to open up for Shane MacGowan in London on my 30th birthday. He was and is such a huge songwriting influence for me, and the opportunity to be on the bill with him was such an honor. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just want to continue making music I believe in, writing songs from a place of desire and intention, and hopefully putting something out into the world that sparks for others the joy that music brings me.
