About King Woodz

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories would be opening up for hip-hop artists Foxy Brown, Cassidy, and B.G. I've also been nominated for Detroit HIP-HOP ARTIST OF THE YEAR and collaborated with several Detroit legends K-Deezy, Marv Won, Forty Da Great, etc. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Crimson The Black Gentleman, Cognac & Cummerbunds Eminem, The Marshall Mathers LP The Notorious B.I.G., Life After Death (2014 Remaster) These albums are what I would like to consider MASTERPIECES! Zero skips, great production, and filled with BARS! Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “H20 (feat. Crimson The Black Gentleman & Goosemanship)” This song embodies what I represent as an artist. The track is crazy and it feels like the version of hip-hop that I miss from the mid 90s. Also I collaborated with 2 of my artists Crimson and Goose 2 of the best Emcees from Detroit. BANGER! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Releasing my album LOUD MUSIC on the Apple Music platform is one of my most memorable and proudest moments as an artist. Losing my mother in 2018 was the most difficult time in my life. I released that album that same year and that's what she wanted. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My bucket list is to continue to collaborate with great artists and grow my label/brand as an engineer and producer going forward. Working with younger artists and bridging the gap between myself and the newer generation of Emcees.
