Queen Ida

While Queen Ida is most famous for being the first woman to front a zydeco band, she deserves recognition purely for her fine and distinctive accordion playing. Although born in Louisiana, Queen Ida began playing on the West Coast in the 1970s, and her distance from the "Big Easy" gives her zydeco a bluesy, easy-going style all its own.
