Miramar

Richmond, Virginia's Miramar is a bolero project created in the mid-2010s by singer and songwriter Reinaldo Álvarez and keyboard player and arranger Marlysse Rose Simmons-Argandoña (both members of salsa band Bio Ritmo), together with singer Laura Ann Singh. The trio took its inspiration from the Puerto Rican bolero tradition of the 1950s and '60s, and indeed debuted in 2016 with an acclaimed tribute to iconic singer and composer Sylvia Rexach. While dormant for extended periods, Miramar patiently refined its style in the 2020s to encompass different variations of the bolero genre, adding a contemporary perspective and modern elements to its characteristically lush arrangements and compositions. Preceded by the singles "Un Astro" and "En Mis Sueños," the group's sophomore effort, Entre Tus Flores, appeared in 2025.
