Willy Rodríguez

Willy Rodriguez is a Latin Grammy-winning drummer, percussionist, and bandleader. Since serving as musical director and drummer at 21, he has gone on to become a versatile player and bandleader in contemporary music genres from Latin pop, prog rock, reggae, and jazz. Before becoming a first-call session drummer and bandleader, he won a Latin Grammy for his work on Mon Laferte's Norma, and served as drummer on Mars Volta's eponymous reunion album in 2022. Expanding his range and exploring new musical avenues, Rodriguez received various invitations to explore free jazz and improvisation, most notably from saxophonist Dave Liebman. In 2024, he released Seeing Sound, his leader debut for Outside in Music, an album that cut across modern classical, Latin, and vanguard jazz and more. In 2026 he returned with In the Uknown (I Will Find You) on Sunnyside Communications.
