In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories goes back to being maybe five or six and playing with my dad's classical acoustic guitar. I had no idea how to play it so I would just lay it on the floor and pick out melodies with the open strings. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Elliott Smith, XO Nine Inch Nails, The Downward Spiral Explicit Version Toadies, Rubberneck Seeing Elliott on SNL, hearing Mr. Self Destruct for the first time, and the summer I spent with 'Rubberneck' were all big moments in my musical awakening. Tell us why you chose this song. “Time of Your Life” This was the last song I wrote for the record but represents a culmination of songwriting ideas and musicality that makes me very proud of it. Both the opening line and bridge still surprise me when I realize it's one of my songs.
