Benjamin Schmid

Violinist Benjamin Schmid has been acclaimed for performances of music from Bach to Ligeti. He is also a noted jazz player in the style of Stéphane Grappelli and is an important educator as well. Schmid has a large recording catalog on a variety of labels from within and beyond the German-speaking world. During the later part of his career, he has often recorded for Austria's Gramola label, where in 2025, he issued Friedrich Gulda, Kurt Weill: Konzerte für Violine und Blasorchester.
