Tom Drennan

Irish vocalist and pianist Tommy Drennan had an instant hit with a 1972 rendition of "Oh, Holy Night" that combined a newly recorded verse and orchestra with a 1953 recording of Drennan as an 11-year-old. Preceded by his involvement in high-profile touring vocal groups including the Freshmen and the Monarchs, his five-week solo run at the top of the Irish singles chart was followed by the formation of another group, the League, as Drennan turned his attention to the cabaret and corporate-function scenes.
