Chen Halevi

Chen Halevi is a virtuoso Israeli clarinetist living in Germany. He is a specialist in 20th and 21st century repertoire and has worked closely with composers, including Luciano Berio, György Kurtág, Magnus Lindberg, and Osvaldo Golijov. With The New Israel Woodwind Quintet, he recorded two albums of pieces by diverse composers from 1994 and 2008, respectively. Halevi also performs Classical and Baroque music on period instruments, such as the album Harmoniemusik from Mozart's Favorite Operas with the ensemble Winds Unlimited (2016). In 2026, he joined the Arethusa Quartet for Golijov's The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind on their album titled Encounter.
