About Morgan Fisher
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Morgan Fisher, eclectic Brit keyboardist, has played '60s pop, glam rock, new wave, ambient in his storied career. After '60s band the Love Affair, he made progrock band Morgan, and joined Mott The Hoople in '73. Formed indie label Pipe Records What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? He played with Dead Kennedys, Neil Innes. Curated concept album Miniatures (50 1-minute tracks by Robert Fripp, Andy Partridge, Robert Wyatt, George Melly, The Residents, etc). In Japan since '85, recording minimal/ambient music, film scores. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Que En Paz Descanse” My first ambient song/album, in 1980. Inspired by Eno. I processed a recording of sax genius Lol Coxhill and cut tape to make loops - pre-digital sampling! It's beautiful! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My first gig with Mott the Hoople, in Chicago 1973. Opening act: Joe Walsh at his peak! The second gig was also memorable. Opening act: The New York Dolls. Punk before punk! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To continue, like Bill Nelson, to be musically prolific till the day I die. And keep au fait with the latest Mac and the latest keyboards and software. I've plenty of time - I'm only 75!
